Relating to Christmas
This month, in honor of Christ and the celebration of his birth, I picked The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare. It's been quite a while since I've read this book. I've read it a couple of times and enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

November's Book of the Month
Sorry about the long delay. I will try to stay on top of things from now on. This month's book is Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier I've never read it nor do I know much about it other than what I read on Wikipedia. I look forward to reading it over Thanksgiving Break. I hope you enjoy it too.

It's Alive!!!
For all those that have been anxiously awaiting the resurrection of the Merry Band of Readers, the time has come. I've decided to use the 7th Grade College Bound Reading List put together by the librarians at Ecker. Some of the books on this list I've read and others I haven't. Most of them are classics mixed in with a good handful of moderns.
We'll be starting with The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Many years have passed since I've read this story. I'm looking forward to re-reading a favorite. Let me know what you think.
For those of you with various time constraints that want to participate I would suggest audiobooks. I know the SLCounty library system has books on tape, CD and electronic downloads. Ask your local librarian which options are available in your area.

The End....
The End. Those are the words most often used to let everyone know the story is over. Such is the case with our book club group. I am toying with the idea of turning this blog into a more general idea but we'll see if I really can get my act together. Anyway, thanks for keeping with us folks. I'll let you know if and when we start back up. Take care!

This month's book is "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. The date is yet to be determined. If you're checking the book out from the library, better get your name on the list:)

January Meeting and Book (possibly Movie Night?)
From an e-mail by Camille...
"Happy New Year! I hope you all had wonderful holidays.
I want to remind everyone to come to bookclub next week. We'll be discussing the Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. And I have to say that it took me a while to get into it, but really liked it. I do love a good intrigue. If you haven't read it, come anyway. I also understand that there are a couple of movie versions of it, if you haven't finished it by then and would rather watch it.
I hope to see you all on Thursday!
When: Thursday, January 11 at 7 p.m.
Where: Camille, Tricia, and Anna's"

November's Book
"The book we're going to read for November is The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. It's a classic 19th century mystery/thriller filled with deceit, love, unmaskings, villany, adventure, and retribution.
"Let's meet Thursday November 30th at 7 p.m. at my place."
